Still running

The running continues, and I think I beat my own record for "most interesting thing found on the side of the road". Last weekend my extended family from my dad's side spent the weekend in wine country. I had to do my weekly long run, so I took off early in the morning. About a mile and a half into my run I found a dead snake on the side of the road, but he had no visible injuries so he looked nearly alive. I decided that I would scoop him up on my way back if he were still dead when I returned.
I think that everyone training for a marathon should carry a dead snake for the last 1.5 miles. It really gives you that excitement you need to keep going, plus the looks from early-morning walkers is priceless. Attached is a photo of me attempting to vamp with the snake on my head. While I thought he could have been perfect for a variety of hijinks, my dad reminded me of the potential heart attacks in the group, and I put him in the forest to decompose naturally.
